Carlos Adames Reportedly Set to Face Gerome Warburton on November 14 in Riyadh

WBC middleweight titleholder Carlos Adames is scheduled to return to the ring on November 14 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, headlining a Zuffa Boxing event against Gerome Warburton. The contest will reportedly be contested as a non-title affair, according to boxing insider Dan Rafael.

Adames (25-1-1, 18 KOs) will be making his promotional debut under the Zuffa Boxing banner. The Dominican power-puncher captured WBC gold at 160 pounds and has established himself as one of the division's top competitors.

The assignment comes as a bit of a detour from sanctioning body obligations. Less than a month prior, the WBC officially ordered Adames to negotiate a mandatory defense against top contender Meiirim Nursultanov, who has waited nearly three years for his crack at the middleweight crown.

Instead of jumping straight into that mandatory assignment, Adames will first stay active in Riyadh against Warburton in a stay-busy showcase to top the mid-November card.
